There are two main approaches to my work. The first – intuitive and free. There is no predefined content, but the moment gives birth to the photograph. Opportunity and timing are what lead me to the moment in which I am present, and it is this moment that seeks to be captured by the camera. Photography is a by-product of presence, not planning.
The second – calculated and precise. Every detail in the image is planned in advance. I sketch the image in my head and carry out meticulous planning for the process. While I try to be to be as precise as possible, I am also aware that sometimes reality does not align with my aspirations. Conditions change, the light may not be exactly as I expected, and the environment may surprise Unpredictability. Despite this, I do not see this as an obstacle but rather part of the process – I face the challenges that reality poses and adapt to them, while maintaining a clear direction that leads me to complete the image.
In my creative process, I focus on analog photography, mainly in medium and large format, and usually print my works using the inkjet technique. I see great importance in doing all stages of the process – from photography, through development to scanning and editing. Each stage of my work is an inseparable part of myself and the overall creation.
My art deals with "here", with the Israeli reality. And more specifically, with my Israeli. My works present my unique style and represent the ability to capture the essence of the subjects I choose to focus on and devote myself to: from the environment I am in, from my personal biography, from a personal perspective outward, to the collective.
