Worn-Out
I photographed professional boxers after they participated in a long team training session that lasted about two hours. I photographed each of them when they were the most exhausted, broken, And the most washed-out they were. The team coach helped me make them reach this state. When they came to me on the set (which was located near the training complex) I asked them to do only 2 things: sit on the chair In such a way that they are comfortable (and not in a "pose"), and look at the camera. It was interesting to compare them, Whether it's their body language depending on the situation And for their personal state, their clothing, the protectors, the choice of whether to take off the equipment, where to put it, etc… I chose a semi-transparent background that would contribute to the formality, in the texture and the reflections created from it for the sweaty and shiny exercisers. Both the background and the lighting create a sort of A "toy inside a box" on the images which helped emphasize the similarity and difference between The various boxers.
